6.2 ft Small Outdoor Kitchen with Built-In Grill

A 6 ft 3 in straight run - the smallest complete outdoor kitchen in the collection - with a 32 in Napoleon 700 Series built-in grill centered between two 20 in cabinets: one with three drawers, one with storage and a pull-out trash bin. Shown in Travertino Bianco with a charcoal back panel.

Made by Skol Outdoor Living, fabricated in 304 marine-grade stainless steel and sintered stone.

Layout

How this kitchen works

Left to right: a 20 in three-drawer cabinet, the grill in a 35 in grill cabinet with two drawers under it, then a 20 in storage-and-trash cabinet.

Because the grill is centered, there is about 20 in of counter on each side of it - room for raw food on one side and cooked food on the other. That is less than the common guideline of about 24 in on one side of a grill and 12 in on the other: the trade-off for fitting a full built-in grill into just over 6 ft.

Everything opens as a drawer, including the space under the grill, so nothing is lost at the back of a deep cupboard - which matters most on a short run.

Will it fit

Size and the space it needs

Footprint: 6 ft 3 in long x 27 in deep, with the countertop at 35.7 in.

Against a wall it needs a strip of patio about 6 ft 3 in x 6 ft (the kitchen plus 42 in of clear floor for one cook). Freestanding, with a 36 in walkway around it, plan about 12 x 9 ft.

There is no sink or refrigerator, so it needs only a gas supply for the grill - no water line, drain or refrigerator circuit.

Is it for you

Who this design suits

Best for

  • Townhouse patios, small decks and courtyards where a 7.5 ft run is too long.
  • Cooks who grill outside and bring the rest of the meal from the indoor kitchen.
  • A first outdoor kitchen you plan to extend: modules can be added to either end later.

Keep in mind

  • No sink, no refrigeration and no side burner.
  • About 20 in of counter either side of the grill - enough to land a platter, not to prep a full meal outside.
